This Instagram Account Posts Most Bizarre Pages Found on Wikipedia (30 Pics)

When people search for something on Google and need more comprehensive information about the topic, they most often end up clicking the Wikipedia links they see in the search results. This is because internet users feel that Wikipedia is a better repository of information due to its entries being created and edited by volunteers who may have diverse views on a particular topic, thus minimizing the chance of bias. In fact, surveys have shown that people trust Wikipedia more than other websites. That being said, Wikipedia has its downsides too. Being a volunteer-driven website, anybody can create a page on any weird, obscure, or less-searched topic that escapes the editorial process. Indeed, Wikipedia is full of such weird, obscure, and less-searched pages that it inspired Annie Rauwerda, a neuroscience major at the University of Michigan, to create an Instagram account called “Depths of Wikipedia” to specifically document such Wikipedia pages. Her Instagram shares strange, surprising, interesting, and sometimes hilarious entries found on Wikipedia. We’ve listed some of the interesting ones we found on her account in the article below.
